If you know me, you know I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Laundry!
It is my most favorite chore in the whole wide world! I could do laundry all day long and be happy as a clam.
Now, I also LOVE Gain laundry detergent. I recently switched from liquid detergent to powder detergent. It is cheaper and I am very happy with the powder detergent. With that said, I was also tired of paying $25 for a large box of powder detergent that would last me about a month, maybe a month and half.
I laughed, yes laughed, at those people who made their own detergent. My very good friend, Avie reminded me of that today! But today Marissa and I made our very own powder laundry detergent! And GUESS WHAT - You can too! It is easy, cheap, and takes a whole 10 minutes of your time!
First you need the three basic ingredients - Borax, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda, and Fels-Naptha Soap
Next you will need to have your teenage daughter help you grate the soap! Haha! No really, you need to grate the bar of soap into a bowl.
When you finish it will look like this
Then you will need one cup of Super Washing Soda
Then one cup of Borax
Add these to the bowl of grated soap.
Then you will stir for 5 minutes.
Stirring...
And stirring...
This is what your finished product will look like!
It smells AMAZING!
And well, I am planning on doing a load of laundry tonight so I can test it out!
