Speaking To Me...

I am not overly religious.  I don't blog about church or religious type things often.  I completely and totally believe in God and Jesus.  I pray - I always have and I always will.  I taught our children about Jesus and God.  We attend church occasionally - I dislike social situations and this is one that causes me extreme anxiety.  I take the boys to VBS and I always want to be more involved but again extreme anxiety.   However, the past few days one person has been bringing up this song over and over again.  The person always seems to bring the song up at exactly the right time.   And the part that is so ironic is they have no idea that each time they bring up the song, a small light bulb clicks in my head and says, "Lane, let go!  Let Him take care of it.  Follow where He is leading you.I think God is talking to me through this person - yes I just said that because I believe it.  I need to hand it over to Him - I need to let Him "Take The Wheel".

I don't know, I don't ask much... but please if you get a minute say a quick prayer for our family.  Just pray that I "hand it over", pray that I am able to do His will (even if I am starting out small), and pray that His will done within our family life.

Whirlwind of a Day!

Larry sent me a text yesterday afternoon letting me know that his grandmother passed away.  It was pretty unexpected.  I had spoken with his mother via email just the day before and she had informed me that his grandmother was going to have gallbladder surgery on Wednesday.  So receiving a call that she passed away before the surgery was not even on our radar.  We had planned to leave the boys with my mom and go for the weekend.  We were planning to leave today at lunch time.  Those plan didn't pan out...  Colin's left ear started draining last night and we had to call the doctor again. They scheduled us for an appointment first thing this morning.  We got there, and they sent us directly over to his ENT who decided it was necessary to "clean" his ears out.  It was not fun because of course Colin threw a huge fit - I am sure it wasn't comfortable for him either.  Anyway, by the time we got home, it just wasn't in the plans for us to leave today.  We are leaving first thing in the morning and we are taking Colin with us.  Cade has decided he wants to stay with Grammy and not make the 8 hour trip.
Please keep our family in your prayers if you can.   We also had a little immediate family drama in our household yesterday so please just pray that everything works out the way that God has planned.

In other BIG news, Cade lost a tooth yesterday.
It was a little wiggly, and I mean just a little wiggly, in the morning.  However by yesterday afternoon, it was super wiggly and bleeding so his teacher pulled it for him.  I had to stand outside the classroom door, because I hate teeth.  It just grosses me out when they are all wiggly.  He was so excited to have this tooth out and couldn't wait to call his Daddy and tell him!  I can't believe how grown up he looks without that tooth.  I cried a few tears over this one yesterday, especially when I was tucking him into bed and he informed that he would always be my baby.  ALWAYS!  Even when he was a grown up adult, he would always be my baby.  Those were his words, not mine!

Happy Fall!

I am so excited!  Yesterday, was the first day of fall and while the weather might not feel all that fallish yet - it is totally okay!  BECAUSE I am going to make it feel and look like fall!
Look at this adorable printables that I found on Pinterest!  How cute!
How awesome are these?  I think I am going to use white paper bags though!
And look at these!  I can't wait to put these on my bar!

And of course I am trying to figure out Cade's party... OH MY WORD!  On one hand, I just want to do something somewhere else - like take him a a couple of friends to mini golf and we still might, but on the other hand he wants to have a party at the house.  I want something small BUT fun - not wild, crazy fun but calm fun.  Is that even possible?  I am thinking that YES it has to be - or maybe I am wrong!  Haha!  Right now, I am looking at doing a Lego Party.  Am I crazy?

Family Fun Night

Spur of the moment family fun!  We decided after dinner that it would a lot of fun to just load the kids up and go down to play mini golf.  The boys were so excited!  They practiced and practiced before heading out to play.  It was classic!
I was able to get this picture of everyone before we went out.
The boys seriously could NOT wait to get out there!  Cade has played mini golf once before when we were at Myrtle Beach.  He did really well, but this was Colin's first trip.  Colin understood you were supposed to hit the ball in the whole BUT he didn't have much patience when having to wait on everyone else.  He still had a blast though.  I mean seriously, look at his face!
We will be adding this to our monthly Family Fun Nights, for sure!

Happy School Year!

Dropping In!

Oh my!  It has been well over a month since I have blogged.  Things around here have been sooo crazy busy and when I say crazy busy I am not kidding!  School started and well school started!  There are no other words to describe it!  When school starts it feels like I am not able to breathe until at least January and this year is no different.  Now, I am going to start posting from the past few weeks, err month, that I missed!  I hope it doesn't get too crazy!  :)
