I couldn't help it! I saw it posted somewhere else and I thought this was a really neat idea. We are always in search of toys that make the cut for our kids. You know the ones I am talking about! The ones that keep them engaged, the ones that get played with every single day of the week, the ones that you don't mind spending your money on! Yes, those toys!
As you know, I have two boys and both boys are VERY different, which means that they have very different interests but there are a few toys that they both really enjoy and have been worth every single penny we have spent on them!
The Bat Cave - OH MY WORD! Best money I EVER spent! We have toys of Imaginext, but the Bat Cave, hands down gets played with the most. I am pretty sure we have every other piece that has been made but both of my boys LOVE this one. They will play with it for hours and so will their friends.
The Tonka Bounce Back Racer - My boys seriously love this! I have a backup still in the box in the closet that I got on super clearance because this is our second racer we have been through. They LOVE this thing and the dogs HATE it!
Geotrax! I am not sure who loves them more, the boys or my husband! He will sit and play for hours with them and build these crazy huge tracks. This is in our dining room aka geotrax room! There are so many pieces that you can add on and on, forever!
This might be my favorite purchase EVER! This balance bike was super cheap on clearance and I picked it up on a whim. Needless to say it stays in our house and Colin is on it ALL the time! ALL THE TIME! I am not kidding you, he walks in the door for Baby School and immediately rides it around the house for hours. It has been a motorcycle, a police car, a van, a firetruck, etc.
Our Land of Nod chair has been well loved as well - each boy has one. They use them for reading books or watching tv. They are a staple!
Lego's, Duplo's, and Trio's, OH MY! Lego's Duplo's, and Trio's, OH MY! They are beginning to invade my home! We started off with a couple of Trio sets and the boys LOVE them. Same thing with the Duplo's and regular Lego's! They love them and being creative with them. It's fun to watch and to play with them.
Games, Games, Games! We LOVE games! We have tons of them but these two are our favorites.
I know, what boy doesn't like this one!
The Wii! If you know my boy, you know he LOVES the Wii. We have had this one for years and it gets played with every. single. day. And yes, he gets plenty of exercise
If you are looking for a book series look no further! The Llama Llama books are AWESOME! We have all of them and we read them ALL the time.
Leap Frog DVDs are our favorites too! We have others but these are a couple of our favorites and both boys enjoy watching them.
Nintendo 3DS and Nerf Case - It's get played with almost daily but not in the 3D mode. If you are going to purchase a DSi this year I would suggest going with the 3DSxl. All the new games are moving over to the 3DS system so it is worth the price to go with this one if you are planning to get one.
The V- Tech V-Reader is also very well loved in our home! Cade got it a few years ago and both boys use it at least once a day. With that said, I am not even sure they make this any more...
So guys, that is my toy review! I am making my list for this year as well - both boys have told me what they want and I have all intentions of going to get the stuff this weekend. Let's hope their lists don't change too terribly much between now and Christmas! I am pretty excited about shopping for them!
