Happy New Year!

We rang in the New Year with a family game night! My friend, Avie and her son, Ashton came over to join us. We decided to have just appetizer type foods instead of a big meal and that was just the perfect thing to do. We had wings, little smokies, a wonderful salsa/cheese dip with scoops, bagel bites, and sweets. It wasn't the greatest menu but it was perfect for us and especially the kids.
Marissa pulled out all the games for us so that we would have a wide variety to choose from.
Avie and Ashton made it over so we had some camera fun in the kitchen while getting things together!
Here is a picture of Avie and I together! Notice the light makes her look like she has a halo. Haha!
Marissa and Avie - Do you notice anything extremely silly about this?
Yes, Marissa has a bagel bite sticking out of her mouth!

We played a game that Avie introduced us too called, Garbage. It was a lot of fun, but of course I lost the first round!
The cards above are the only ones I was able to play during the first round. The lowest score wins, so take a peek at this score sheet.
Even, though I lost that round... we still had so much fun during the game! Just look at our smiling faces!
Although this face looks more smug than smiling, haha!
It was finally dark enough outside for the little guys to have some fun!
This was Cade's first time with a sparkler. Ashton had done them before but they were both so cute and excited! Who would have known that a $2.00 box of sparklers would make two little boys so happy. I think I am going to stock up on them and every time we have friends over or at least every time we have Ashton and Avie let them do at least one box!
Excitement at it's finest! It is surely all about the little things with these guys.
(I know this isn't the greatest picture, but if you look you can see how excited Cade was about these sparklers)
Of course Marissa needed to be in on the sparkler fun as well!
We came back inside and played a game with the kids this time, Headbandz. If you haven't played it, you really should! It is so much fun - even the kid edition. Cade didn't really understand it so much but Ashton was getting the hang of it. The best thing is everyone looks extremely silly!
You get to wear these cool headbands and then you get to put these crazy cards in them. You have to ask questions to guess what you are!
I received a very fitting headband since I need to lose about 20lbs.
And just because he is soooo cute and was enjoying watching the game.
Now that is a new year we all have goals and resolutions. I have just a few and my goal is to stick to them.
I want to shed 20lbs so that I can possibly fit into a cute suit this summer.
I have all intentions of creating a Christmas account and saving throughout the year. I want to be more organized and less cluttered.

I want to do more family activities.
I want to buy less clothing and invest more in savings accounts.
Those are mine! Now to stick with it. I am hoping, I can! I guess we will find out in 12 months how well I did.
